We use the highest quality freshwater pearls, consciously sourced from lakes in the Philippines. Each pearl is carefully selected for its high iridescence, natural pastel colours and silk-like lustre. Oceano provides a certificate of authenticity with each pearl.

Please note that the shapes and characteristics of our pearls are completely natural and unmodified. As a result, you can expect blemishes and inclusions that add to the uniqueness of each pearl.

Pearl Varieties
Pearls are the only gemstones whose shape, lustre, and colour cannot be modified. They are a direct creation of the ocean, making each pearl one-of-a-kind.

Baroque pearls: prized for their organic silhouettes, baroque pearls are Intentionally imperfect. Their irregular shapes are just as nature intended.

Flat pearls: these pearls are round and flat. Their smooth shape allows them to reflect light beautifully.

Sourcing
Farming pearls is the most ecological way to find pearls without depleting the environment. Pearl oysters need crystal clear water in order to thrive, as they act as natural filters for the ocean and cannot survive in polluted areas. We carefully choose eco-friendly farms that align with our values to respect the environment.

It takes from 2-5 years for freshwater pearls to mature and be harvested. Once the pearls have grown to the desired size, pearl farmers can respectfully harvest the pearls. The freshwater mollusks are larger than seawater mollusks and often can produce a variety of pearls more than once.

Each of our oxidised silver pieces is molded, beaten, and crafted by hand, then treated with a tarnishing solution to create the darkened patina.
No cleaning is necessary, as the oxidation remains intact unless exposed to harsh elements such as sulphur or sea water.

Cleaning
